THE TRAVERTINE SINK STORY
Linkasink has recreated a stunning vessel sink that is hand crafted in travertine. These sinks are individually handmade by artisans in China who have perfected the art of mooring together small travertine tiles and then shaping the unit into a round bowl shape through sanding of the stone. Although travertine is mostly associated with Tivoli, Italy and the Colosseum in Rome, it is also found in many continents around the world. In fact, the Huanglong Valley in the Sichuan Province of China is the site of beautiful cascades from a natural lake formed behind a travertine dam. This natural stone is used extensively in homes for a variety of surfaces. The aged appearance of this travertine sink makes it ideal for creating both a classic and natural décor.
